IWCF Drilling Well Control

Course Information

About our courses

  • We are accredited by The International Well Control Forum (IWCF), a not-for-profit organization committed to developing the highest possible standards in well control training, assessment, and certification programs for the exploration and production sector of the oil and gas industry.

Learn more about The International Well Control Forum (IWCF) here.

  • We work closely with IWCF to develop and deliver the highest possible standards in training for professionals in the oil and gas industry, going well beyond those required for routine mandatory certification. Through clarity and understanding, we strive to provide candidates with the capabilities to operate at the highest level of skill, safety, and confidence within their jobs.

Our courses are capped at a max of 4 candidates to ensure that training can be designed to suit each individual candidate. This also ensures a more relaxed learning environment, one-on-one time with your trainer, and extended time on the simulator.

Read what our candidates have to say about our courses here.

  • This program is designed for people in critical well control positions on drilling installations as well as onshore roles. Candidates will complete an IWCF-accredited training course, taught according to IWCF syllabus, to prepare them for their assessment.

A well control certificate in conjunction with relevant work experience is a demonstration of competence in recognising and safely dealing with well control situations (i.e. blowout prevention).

Course participants are either employer-funded or self-funded/self-employed contractors in need of well control certification.

  • Perhaps the most important aspect of our practice is the instructor. We believe it is immensely important that our trainers have strong interpersonal and instructional skills, as well as hands-on global industry experience. This ensures that the participant acquires not only the information necessary to become certified, but also the ability to apply safe practice in real-life situations with confidence and competence.
